Bringing an idea to life is exhilarating, but founders often hit a wall. You’re building something meaningful — but it’s messy. Too many ideas, not enough clarity. Juggling too many hats. Advice overload and social pressure. Lonely decision-making. Paralysis from uncertainty or burnout.
And when you need support, the options aren’t great. On one side, expensive consultants and strategy firms built for big teams. On the other, LinkedIn gurus shouting about frameworks, hacks and shortcuts.
Our Offer
We call it business therapy. It’s a small, trusted group of founders who meet regularly to untangle challenges, share perspectives, and hold each other accountable. It’s not about gurus or hacks — it’s about real conversations with people who get it.
It’s support for founders who are still working it out. A space to pause, untangle and progress. Where you can answer the hard questions, work through tough challenges, get clear and move forward with confidence, not guesswork.
And sometimes, it's just a space to get the reassurance you’re on the right track.
We keep things simple but structured. Each session follows a clear rhythm — space to check in, dive into real founder challenges, share perspectives, and leave with concrete next steps. The format gives you enough structure to feel supported, but enough flexibility to let the right conversations unfold.
Small groups (6–8 founders) → intimate enough for depth, diverse enough for new perspectives.
Regular sessions (fortnightly, 90 mins, online) → structured, facilitated, and designed to move you forward.
Guided by someone who’s been there → every session is facilitated by Dan, a founder who’s built, scaled, and exited businesses. You get the benefit of structure, experience, and empathy from someone who knows what it’s like to be in the thick of it.
Hot seats → each session, one or two founders bring a live challenge to work through with the group.
Accountability → keep commitments visible and progress moving.
Community space → WhatsApp group to keep support flowing between sessions.
£250/month. Shared wisdom, honest support, and people who get it — all in your corner, twice a month.

Some nice words
"Thanks Dan, you have really changed the game for Synbiotix and helped bring to life my aspirations for the whole company. You and the team are excellent at what you do."
"Just having someone who's been there, who can ask the right questions or simply listen, made a huge difference and helped us secure our first round of funding."
"Making it Up has helped me to put the right foundations in place and gave me the space to answer so many questions I couldn't answer on my own."

Making It Up was started by Dan – the founder of a number of start-ups (including Found, a health-tech platform, which he exited in a seven figure deal). Since then, he’s supported start-ups and scale-ups across sectors, helping founders navigate everything from launching early ideas to big pivots. His style is collaborative, grounded, and focused on turning stuck moments into forward momentum.
He doesn’t do it alone — and you don’t have to either. Alongside Dan, you’ll also have access to a trusted network of specialists in brand, product, fundraising, sales and more — people who’ve been there, and can help you move faster when it counts.
Like Dan, they embody the Making it Up mindset and are here to help you move forward.
